Current Clinical Trials
There are a number of clinical trials in bladder cancer. These usually compare standard treatment with a new treatment.
Not all patients will be suitable for a clinical trial. Some trials can also only be run in certain hospitals either because of their complexity or because of the particular type of treatment. However, having information on clinical trials can help patients in their consultations with the cancer specialist. If you are suitable for a particular clinical trial and are willing to travel to the hospital where it is available, your consultant can potentially refer you for this.
For information on clinical trials that are currently running and the contact details of the trial co-ordinators, please see the following summary: Trial for every patient algorithm (PDF 277 kB)
Information on current bladder cancer trials is also available via the Cancer Research UK website.
NCRI Clinical Studies Groups (CSGs)
Portfolio Maps The NCRI Clinical Studies Groups (CSGs) created portfolio maps to provide a visual representation of each CSG’s study portfolio to highlight current research activity; they are also useful for identifying potential areas for future research. These maps show studies that are open and recruiting studies as well as studies in set-up within the UK Clinical Research Network (UKCRN) database. The maps are updated monthly and the Bladder CSG portfolio maps are available to download.
